Actually, I never accused anyone of "flaming" people. I did however mention about certain people being very opinionated. And, there is nothing wrong with that. I am very opinionated myself, as the thread shows, LOL.
I am actually surprised that more members didn't get in on this topic. Maybe we need to start bad-mouthing each other to get other people interested? I was hoping more people would have thoughts on the thought of this hobby becoming extinct.
Rob, I really enjoyed reading your post. I believe Andrew Wyatt is into Falconry, so I'm sure he can relate to what you said about it.

Sal, I am surprised also that more folks have not joined in on this thread. It is a very important topic.
Perhaps it is because of the Thanksgiving Hollidays.
I hope it is not because of apathy, as not getting involved and supporting the hobby is what will eventually kill it. If folks here are too cheap to support the North Carolina fight, then they should not be surprised when they get no support here when the same legislation is introduced in their states in a couple of years.
The folks who are against us are very well organized, and very motivated and supported by an army of num-skulls who will turn out and protest in the name of animal rights, even though they have no idea the true agenda of the folks they are supporting.
So folks, where are you? What about the young members here? After all, we are talking about your ability to keep reptiles in the future !

The other remark ("sick of me stating my years of experience) was uncalled for....immature, ridiculous, and a bit offensive ...read my comments; I state my experience with pride but not as a "know-it-all"; I'm always learning something new.
You'll be happy to know that I'll be pulling back a bit from this forum to focus more time and energy on some incredible conservation projects going on at my facility.

well here is an open ended question.
If you live in a state that supposedly offers permits but doesnt allow anyone to obtain them and is on the very brink of a full out ban on hot keepers what if anything can i do to change this and possibly reverse the laws that do exist.

Some states have special permits for folks who keep snakes for educational purposes, such as talks to scout troops and schools. These permits are usually somewhat limited in what you can keep, but are still a possible way you could keep snakes in that state, if you were willing to spend time doing some educational work.
I would look into this aspect of the permit system.

Wow. This place has really gotten out of control over the last year. Too bad.
Rob, the Falconry idea is stellar. And you were right, the other was rather immature. I have 27 years "professional" experience, it's in the profile, can't see why people would have issues with how much time I've been slinging vipers for a living. <shrug> Oh well, now you know why I left the forum a while back.
Pity, I really was hoping that it was going to get better.
Folks, if you really want to save your hobby, you're certainly not going about it the right way. Wise up before you lose what little you have remaining.
Now...where's that exit door.....?
