There is a very cute little LED blacklight available at this site for $10.00.
Their advertising says "It is an invaluable tool in helping you find the locations of urine deposits..."

Hey, you could probably use it to clean snake cages in the dark, LOL !
Best Regards JohnZ

Thanks John. I bet my wife will be happy to get one of them! And maybe, just maybe, I can get her in the snake room to clean some cages!

I had quite the experience as well. Most of us herpers stayed at the Red Roof Inn like we did last year. My room wasn't bad, everything was in pretty good order and clean. But the last night I was there, I went downstairs to load up the truck and ran into a K-9 Police officer. It took me off guard, as I didn't expect to turn the corner and run literally into a dog. At any rate, I talked with him for a bit and he said that hotel location is known for prostitution/drugs. He said they have officers on the premises every night walking up and down the stairs and by the rooms.

Well, it sounds like I missed a good show, but I'm getting a kick out of this thread. After hearing all the horror stories about the rooms for several years I just don't stay there. Even when I've worked both days as a venomous escort, I'd rather drive the 2 1/2 hrs and sleep in my own bed. My wife is the operations manager for 2 hotels in my area (soon to be 4 as they're building 2 more) and she read this thread and freaked out. I know in her hotels they constantly go behind the housekeepers and inspect the rooms to make sure they're doing everything right.Plus the company whose flag they fly does surprise inspections a couple of times a year. And Chris, I asked her about washing the comforters, and she said 1 hotel does them once a month or as needed, and the other hotel does them more often, but its a much nicer property and the comforters are white.Anyways, I get all the free pillowcase snake bags that I need and then some! But I agree with the sleeping bag thing, I probably don't stay in a hotel but maybe once or twice a year, but I not only bring a sleeping bag, but also my own pillow. Marty

"Oh, I almost forgot. Last year we had a major issue with Cockaroaches at the Red Roof Inn."
That's the one thing about SC hotels, they have cockroaches, and many of them. I stayed in a nice place on Myrtle Beach once, and one tried making off with my suitcase. It realized it couldn't make it under the door. ; )
Joe, you should have no probs with nasty hotels....the one in Jaco wasn't exactly 5 star, or even 2 star.

Maybe with all the bad hotel rooms, everyone should look into making it an overnight camping trip? I only live 2 1/2 hours from Columbia and I agree. Maybe it's better to sleep in your own bed! If everyone went camping, they could share stories, and get to know everyone better

Oh yeah I love reading about the hotels! I have stayed at the Red Roof Inn once and slept in the chair! It looked like some nasty sex going on in the bed before I checked in and was told there were no more rooms. It dipped down to 32 degrees that night and had ice on the vehicle the next day. Thank God for the chair.
NOW, I stay at the Riverside Inn in Cayce, SC a very clean hotel, 12 minutes away from the show. It is located on Knox Abbott Drive. I have stayed there every time I have visited Cayce for the past five years. $51.00 with AAA. Danny, check them out for a group rate next year. They have about 42 rooms.
:)
