Get a 40 inch standard hook, you will consider it your favorite. The picture in your profile has you using the Midwest mini-hook with the pinning option on the other end. Tailing or pinning this snake is not a good idea, and you need the longer hook.

mid west make great hooks, in you profile it says you have been keeping venomous for 10 years but your 16 years old you started at 6 ?

that is true i started keeping cottonmouths when i was six i caught a juvenile timber rattler when i was four and yes ikow it's crazy

when i was four we lived in arkansas at the time by a river i would go out by myself and go herping, my mom was not comfortable with it until i started to bring home lots of venomous snakes such as cottonmouths and copperheads.she couldn't stop me so she just gave up.

not to be mean but its alittle hard to believe you where herping and catching rattlers and cotton mouths at 4 years old a kid that young has no idea of what is going on and would not be able to deal with an animal like that.
she couldnt stop you when you where 4 ? i dont know of parent that couldnt stop their 4 year old from going outside but letting them go outside alone at that age to catch venomous snakes is crazy

I have a hard time believing that. My daughter is four, knows her abc’s, can spell her name, knows the capital of Ga, can speak Hawaiian, and comes up with funny names for her dolls….but as smart and independent as she is she couldn’t safely catch hots! Nor would I let her. I wouldn’t go around telling people your mom gave up preventing you from grabbing venomous snakes it really makes her look like a moron. I sure as heck wouldn’t let my daughter go around catching hots. No one will think less of you if you have less “experience” everyone needs to start somewhere. Stay safe!

yes i know you have a hard time to understand i was not like nost four year olds i knew what snake was what and no my mom is not a moron most four year old played with batman i caught snakes
