Vodka, bikinis....where's this thread going:-)...at least it reminds me of summer (it's been a long winter in Chicago). I'm a lightweight anyway - its usually Dos Equis or Sam Adams for me.
Terry, it looks like we may have to wait until August or November as we are nearing the end of our current renovation of our buildings which means we are all here 24/7...it's been a long 4 months. Would one of those two work?
As far as tongs go, I use them more for picking up crap than anything but have found them useful for smaller crotalines like 'saugas and other little jumpy crotalines who don't like the hook too much. For larger snakes, I might use them for support in conjunction with a hook but as you said, everyone has to do what's comfortable to them. Our goal is to keep our limbs out of their mouths - simple as that.
Doug/Terry: have either of you received any info about the AAZK venomous animal workshop? I'm supposed to be speaking like you two but haven't heard boo from the organizer. I'm a little hesitant in making flight plans, hotels, etc until I know this thing is definitely going.
Ciao, Rob

Rexano videos are here, 2 pages:
http://www.youtube.com/profile_videos?user=REXANOEXOTICS&p=r
some are just spoofs, some are serious and educational, some were entries in YouTube contests to bring outsiders to see our cause, since all public usually sees is AR propaganda.

PS: I guess we need to insert letter 'H' in the subject line in the word ‘tong’ to continue this subject.;-)
Anyway, thanks for all the great suggestions, I took notes, I really learned a lot.
I knew that just like in big cat world, venom world had 2 camps, hands on and hands off.
I always knew big cat trainers all have their ‘own’ techniques to train hands on, but I had no clue until now here in venomous world there were so many approaches and opinions on handling and equipment.
I came here to look for an easy tong answer and got more than I expected. But I also learned a LOT, thanks again , trash can will never look the same; same for broom, it will no longer be just for flying as Terry assumed I was using it for ;-)

Rob-
Yes the training program is still "a go" as far as I know. I spoke with a couple other instructirs at the TAG meeting in Oklahoma last week. Like you (and me) we are all waiting to hear more info. I think we need to do the conference call thing to ensure that we are not stepping on each other or leaving issues out. With my impending move I hate to say it, but I have not given it a lot of my attention.

Actually Henderson/Vegas is where we get our mail and go shopping to Home Depot.
We live outside of Pahrump, west of Vegas, at the end of a dirt road and so US mail doesn’t deliver here, that is why REXANO addy is in Henderson and not here.. Getting mail in the city instead of some Pahrump PO Box also forces me to go to Vegas and see civilization and more humans once in a while.

Pahrump, huh...........
Um......... Is Art Bell a neighbor ????
If so, I need to know how to get some music to him for his weekend show, LOL.......... Seriously !
A good friend of mine has some really metaphysical music that Art could use for bumper music on his show........ I would love for Art to take a listen to a couple of particular songs...........
And, do you ever see any wierd lights in the sky over the mountains near there ?????
Best Regards JohnZ

I heard Art Bell lives here, but I never met him, and I have been here since 2000.
But I never met any wild desert tortoises either; there is a big fight between feds and county commissioners about them here:
Locals don’t ever see them, but feds claim they r here and want to protect them, even though they r invisible to locals:

I don’t do drugs, so I don’t see any weird lights, but I am sure many in Pahrump do ;-)
