I just caught a snake for my grandparent's renter.
He was in a water jug in a chicken house, with small chickens. I noticed he ate an egg, but it was huge!
I asked the renter if he had any big chicken eggs and he told me the only large egg was a fake egg.
I felt of it and it feels hard, and it's all the way down in the stomach. If it were a real egg it would be broken down by now right?
Anyways, I'll keep it for a little while to make sure it passes whatever it is, and then relocate it. (Hopefully not too far from here, but out of trouble.)
Thanks,
Jon

Yep. Get behind the egg and gently manipulate it up with your fingertips from below.
I once had a Texas rat I had to do this with. He had swallowed three plastic Easter eggs. I have a photo of it someplace.

I tried to get it up, but it didn't move. It feels like it not going to come up unless I got pretty rough with it, and I don't want to hurt the snake.
I was being gentle, but at the same time I was trying pretty hard to get it to move... But it didn't.
Maybe being caught, and then messed around with will make him regurge it on his own...
I'll let you guys know how he is in the morning. As of right now though, he is just roaming around his cage...
Thanks again,
Jon

Believe it or not, you can buy solid ceramic fake eggs to put in hens' nests to KILL snakes. That is their purpose. The snake swallows it, and can't digest/break down or pass it, so it ruptures the snake's intestines and it dies from peritonitis. You have to pust that egg back up ASAP.

This happens fairly often. I have friends who keep fake eggs in their coop to encourage hens to lay (and yes, it actually works). I had to help relieve one black rat snake of its "meal". I marked it and released it a few miles away. Next week my friend called me back. Same dadgum ratsnake with the same dadgum fake egg. I guess he really wanted it :)

It's not unusual at all, it has happened to me before with some Hen's i had for fresh eggs. Strange isn't it?
Gray Rat Snake was my culprit, a monster one at that. You would think that a Animal known for its sense of smell like the snake would be able to tell the deference between real/not real food.
