Thanks Peter. I was hoping for a sticky topic, so that people who came here just to argue, could see it without having to search for it.

This site does not do "sticky" topics.
Anyone visiting here, would do well to check out all of the links on the left column, and to Search the Experts Forum before they post a question, as, over the last 10 or 12 years, all sorts of questions have been asked, and answered here, at one time, or another.
Best Regards

Sorry John. I was just trying think of a way to cut down on some of the trolls and the arguing. I did not know sticky topics were taboo. I certainly did not mean to ruffles your feathers.

I hope your last paragraph wasn't aimed at me for simply trying to be helpful. I have never questioned you nor disagreed with you or any other member of this site. I have been coming to this site for over two years. You can count on one hand the times I have posted anything.

I am sure John took no offense to the sticky issue. Our site is just not designed that way, was the point being made.

Exactly. It is just that the coding for this site is very, very old, and does not allow a lot of things like making topics sticky, posting photos, etc., that are found in more modern sites.

Wait a minute here. This thread is a response to the thread by Kauothiaking187 who was pretty much trying to say, from what I understand, that a lot of you people work for zoo's and don't really care about the interest of private reptile ownership because you all get to keep your reptiles and you just do and say whatever is politically correct and spread disinformation. He then cited an email between him and another member showing one of your members named "Rob_Carmichael" is a zoo keeper who can influence legislation, or at least has contact with people who influence legislation, as merit. Then on this thread one of the members named Cro writes " Rob has no ability to change the reptile laws in Chicago, or influence permits." Then Rob_Carmichael comes on to the site and writes "I am NOT a private keeper of venomous snakes. I am a curator of a nature center/living natural history museum (okay, call it a zoo) that is under the umbrella of a city government. That's the only way WE are qualified or allowed to keep venomous species..these animals are on public exhibit free of charge. Not sure what the original comment was but thought I'd chime in briefly. I have ZERO say in state law pertaining to herps; that's all done through the IDNR who do an outstanding job...." But wait a minute here, isn't this the exact gist of what kauothiaking187 was saying ? That you are zoo keepers who have connections to people who regulate the private trade and have no interest in protecting the private reptile trade ? By arguing against him you just made his exact point. Rob_Carmichael even seemed to get mad that you even refer to him as a private keeper. I also find it troubling that Rob_Carmichael thinks that the IDNR is doing an outstanding job in regulating private keepers, and does not try to help the private community. He also said that his museum is " is under the umbrella of a city government" which again backs up everything kauothia king said. I have to say, I do not know who this kautohiaking is but from what I have read I am leaning in the direction that he was 100% right. This all seems very funny to me and I would like to know just what the agenda of this site really is myself.

This staement is also a little troubling, "I hope your last paragraph wasn't aimed at me for simply trying to be helpful. I have never questioned you nor disagreed with you or any other member of this site." So I guess it has just become common knowldge here that you banmember that you do not agree with....WTF ? You banned kauothia king for writing that you ban members you disagree with...WTF ? Buzztail, how is this supposed to be a rebutal to the kauothiaking.... All of these thing are just reinforcing everything he wrote. Buzztail... seriously...WTF ?

Ok, Tommy Blake/Frank Martin/Frank Bergman/Jenny/ Billy Hitchell/every other name that you've registered on this site,
TAKE IT SOMEWHERE ELSE. You don't seem to grasp what an IP address is, or how it gives you up, every time you post. You also don't seem to realize that when you open a post with the words "You people..", everybody knows who they're talking to..
This thread was made, in response to nothing.. Karl made his statements, perfectly clear. We are ALL private reptile keepers. (With the exception of guys like Rob, and Doug, who have made a profession out of it. Who, by the way, are NOT site administrators, and are regular, core members here. Freely registered members, just like you. Albeit, unlike yours, THEIR input holds value).
Al Coritz, is a widely known, and greatly well-respected member of the PRIVATE sector of hot keeping. (For many good reasons). Why would he choose to be an administrator here, if this site was “against private ownership”..? Why would I ? Why would John Zegel (Cro) ? Why is the SHHS a partner organization of organizations like USARK, who FIGHT for the rights of PRIVATE ownership, NATION-wide, on EVERY level, if this site was “anti-private-reptile-keeping“..? I founded the Pennsylvania Woodland Herpetological Society (a nonprofit, in the state that you say, YOU live in); bring herps to schools, host educational programs, educate the community; and SUPPORT and FIGHT for the rights of PRIVATE reptile ownership, industry, trade, and study, in PA and surrounding states, on a REGULAR BASIS. If I was against the private trade, why would I do this..? I have been a member here for quite a while now, and I am a site administrator here. Why would I associate with an website that was against my interests? Feel free to start making sense, at any time..
This thread was not a response to anything, and it is what it is.. Go, re-read it, slooowly, and carefully. Also read what you posted in the other thread, under the username KaouthiaKing187, and then read this thread, again. Remember to read it slowly, so that you understand..
Makes perfect sense to everyone else, so why can't you grasp it..? No cryptic statement was made in this entire thread, and Karl was perfectly clear.
Instead of pretending to be different people, so that people consider agreeing with you (which doesn't seem to be working for you, at all. It's sad.), why don't you either find a site with other like-minded folks, who WILL agree with you, or adopt a viewpoint that normal folks can agree with.
Truly, it's downright sad at this point.. SEEK THERAPY.
John, Karl, my apologies.. This is just really sad. I will now, respectfully, bow out of this thread. Thanks everyone, for the nice comments; those who use this site as it should be used, and find it to be the great resource that it is. It's nice to be associated with such a great group of people.
Take Care,
-John Mendrola
